Rock poster designer Geoff Peveto co-owns this downtown shrine to hot dogs and cold beer. In addition to franks, there's a full brunch menu and the occasional hand-selected rock show when one of his favorites (Craig Finn, Will Johnson, Bob Mould) comes through town.

This out of the way ramen joint from a team that left LA's Michelin-starred Urasawa had lines out the door almost immediately. Co-chef/owner Tatsu Aikawa told us about his DJ crew, Table Manners.

Paul Qui has endeared himself to Austin music fans by bringing his Top Chef-winning food to their favorite watering holes and rock venues. He was also tapped to curate Southbites, SXSW's food truck park.

We're not going to step into the regional BBQ debate, but if you're in Austin, by all means, get yourself some brisket. Producer Brian Paulson (Uncle Tupelo, Sling, Beck) told us about venturing out to Saltlick while Finch manager Andy Harris stayed in town and braved the lines at Franklin and La Barbecue.
